Garden Grove Cancels Street Sweeping on Veterans Day; Trash Pickup Continues as Scheduled

GARDEN GROVE — November 3, 2026. Garden Grove announced that Wednesday, November 11, 2026 will have no street sweeping, although Republic Services trash collection continues on its usual schedule.

The two services follow different rules

The city’s October 26 notice specifically distinguishes street sweeping from garbage collection. Residents should not assume that a holiday suspension of one service means every hauler route shifts.

Municipal buildings close

Garden Grove City Hall, Atlantis Play Center, the Community Meeting Center, H. Louis Lake Senior Center and Magnolia Park Family Resource Center are listed closed on Veterans Day.

What to verify

Residents should follow street signs and check the city street-sweeping map. For a missed trash pickup, contact Republic Services directly and verify any route-specific exception before setting carts out twice.
