Garden Grove Announces October 27 GKN Meeting on Court-Approved Claims Program

GARDEN GROVE, Orange County — October 25, 2026. Residents and businesses affected by the May evacuation in Garden Grove are invited to a GKN Aerospace community meeting on Tuesday, October 27 at 6 p.m., the City of Garden Grove announced October 22. Doors are scheduled to open at 5:30 p.m. at Delta Hotels Anaheim Garden Grove, 12021 Harbor Boulevard.

What will the meeting cover?

According to the city, GKN will explain a court-approved claims program for eligible expenses and losses connected to the May evacuation, as well as safety updates relating to its Garden Grove operations. The city says the program has a funding ceiling of up to $100 million; this is not a guarantee that any individual claim will be approved or that every affected person will receive the same compensation.

The city expects the program to begin accepting submissions at noon on October 27. Residents planning to apply should review the program’s actual eligibility rules, required documentation and filing instructions.
