Garden Grove Free Community Cleanup Returns November 7, but Compost Will Not Be Available

GARDEN GROVE — November 3, 2026. Garden Grove Sanitary District and Republic Services will host a free resident cleanup event on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Public Works site.

Where to bring eligible items

The city lists 13802 Newhope Street as the collection location. The program accepts approved bulky household items, selected appliances, electronic waste and green waste.

One change for November

An October 29 city notice says compost will not be distributed at the November 7 event due to circumstances beyond the city’s control. Residents should not arrive expecting free compost.

Additional free services

The city advertises on-site paper shredding for up to four boxes and a household battery drop-off. Chemicals, oil, pesticides, tires, concrete and refrigerators are prohibited. Confirm current event instructions at 714-741-5372.
