GARDEN GROVE — November 3, 2026. Garden Grove’s solid-waste service page says residents can receive as many as four free approved sharps mail-back kits annually for safe disposal of used needles and similar items.
Where the program is offered
The program is listed through the city and Republic Services, with ordering by phone at 855-737-7871 or through the provider’s program website. The city lists a local ordering code for qualifying residents.
Why a sharps kit matters
Loose needles and syringes are dangerous in household trash, sidewalk bins and recycling carts because collection and sorting workers can be injured. A dedicated container and mail-back arrangement are intended for safe handling.
Different from ordinary medical waste
The program does not mean all prescription drugs, chemicals or professional healthcare waste are accepted in one kit. Confirm the current eligibility, kit instructions and types of sharps before sealing a package.
